Skyfarer Ltd (an UK-based UA operator) is leading the UKRI project “enabling drone powered medical logistics in the UK”. They are planning some trials that will require BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) drone operations between routes that connect Coventry University Hospital, Rugby Hospital and staging area “Feldon” located near the village of Marton. Current regulations mandate that BVLOS ops must be conducted withing “Segregated Airspace” unless the drone is equipped with “Detect and avoid” capability, which is not the case. Therefore Skyfarer is making an application for a TDA.
