Introduction of a new Transponder Mandatory Zone in the Moray Firth.

Consultation:  9 November 2020 – 17 January 2021.

Moray Offshore Wind Farm Ltd. intends to develop a new offshore wind farm in the Moray Firth, that will contain up to 85 Wind Turbine Generators. Wind turbines could interfere with air traffic control radars. To mitigate against this interference, they are proposing to use RAG blanking with a complimentary Transponder Mandatory Zone (TMZ). The consultation is in relation to the establishment of the TMZ.
