The International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers' Associations (IFATCA) is recognised as the spearhead of world-wide activity
between independent Air Traffic Controller Organisations. It provides a unique forum for the interchange of technical and
professional information.
It is GATCO's platform for involvement in international air traffic control.
The Standing Committees of IFATCA investigate all aspects of ATC. For many years GATCO has been
represented on all IFATCA Standing Committees and continues to be a key
player in international affairs.
In addition, GATCO members participate in the work of other committees
and workgroups and our contributions to the Federation's
policies on environmental, training and medical issues are particularly valued.
The UK Guild's membership has proved an important cornerstone in the success of the Federation, providing a balanced
input to the administration and committee structure. To its credit, Guild members have occupied major positions
within the Federation, including the post of President.
In March 2001, IFATCA was granted permanent observer status at International Civil Aviation (ICAO) meetings.
Membership of the Guild includes membership of IFATCA - approximately 15% of the Guild's annual membership fee is paid to the Federation.
